Doctor Visit

Terry had an appointment today. 
I could really end there because everything seems to be the same, or close enough to the same as it has been for a few weeks.

WBC = 2.3(L)
RBC = 4.26(L)
HCT = 36.7(L)
Platelets = 32(L)
(there was no report on the ANC/Absolute Neutrophil count, but we are sure that it is still 0(L), as it has been for the last 4 weeks.)

So, what's up next?
More of the same = taking meds as prescribed and weekly blood draw.

Then on the 21st he will have a bone marrow biopsy to see how the Revlimid has been working.  The results of that biopsy will determine the course from there, which would included continuing with meds (with the same dose or a changed dose) or a second transplant (though maybe for the MDS this time instead of the CLL/SLL).  We have no idea when that would take place or how ..., or any other info about it.  We are not making any plans either way and don't have any speculation.  When we know more we will post it. 

Today we are just looking forward to spring and getting some work done. 

PS - I should have posted earlier that Terry and Thomas planted the spring wheat.  That work is done, and we are grateful for the rain that we have had to moisten the ground.  There is more work being done, and maybe I'll remember to post about it earlier than just a PS at the end of another post ..., and maybe I'll include a photo with it.

Just a Reminder

We were reminded of this in our meetings - in a very loving way that touched our hearts and made us smile.  As I write this my mind started singing "Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world!"  He loves each of us, and wants each of us to enjoy the good life.

Our Day!

Happy Anniversary to us!

33 years!

We spent the day at Leavenworth and had dinner in Wenatchee.  Then home to watch a movie with the kids.  It turned out to be a great day!

We all know Leavenworth is a tourist trap, but what a fun one it is. 
We splurged on snowballs! 
They were 40% off (or they would have stayed on the shelf ..., maybe). 
;) - I should go next month and see if they are 70% off.  I suppose the fuel would make up for the difference though. 
I love them.  They scrunch in your hands like snow.  It's an awesome warm snowball.  (I should have bought two anyway ..., they are so fun!)

Okay, this post is about age:

But really, it is not about Beauty, unless one considers this blog a beautiful thing.  I kinda like it, so maybe it fits that category.

Our Missionaries

We've heard from our missionaries today!  So Fun!  Both are doing fine and adjusting well to their surroundings.

From the MTC:

Elder Connor Hebdon's companion is Elder Smith - they get along very well and have had some awesome times together in their first few days.  It was so wonderful to hear from him and especially since it was such a positive letter.  All is well!  (I really knew it would be, but those first letters are just so precious when they seem so positive ..., it's like an answer to prayers.)

From Battle Mountain Nevada:
Elder Chase Hebdon mentioned that they had 12 lessons last week and have been spending much time cleaning up their apartment that seems to need some work.  He is feeling good about things and looks forward to the missionary work yet to be done.
We also received an email from Chase's mission pres. this afternoon saying that they will be using different mail addresses so I'll not give his address today, because I only have the old one.  We will probably get a new one next week and I'll share it then.  You may use the old address if you'd like and it might get to him, but it might also be returned to you (depending on what the post office decides to do when they get it).

Terry's Appointment

I suppose I should report on Terry's doctor visit, though I'm not sure there is really much to say ..., in the way of new news.  But I needed a bit of a break from the house work I've been doing so, here it is. 

He has had a cough for several weeks now and had two different types of medication to help get rid of it, but it doesn't ever fully go away.  Doctor decided to prescribe Bactrim for him.  He has had this medication before and it seemed to be okay, meaning not too many side affects.  He is to take it daily for one week and then twice a week for maintenance.  We'll see how this goes.

Blood counts are somewhat like they have been for a long time now.  I'm posting the flowsheet so I don't have to type everything, and you can still see the normal range (Latest Ref Rng), and all of the counts for the previous draws up to the last one in December.  The red arrows at the right of the rows show the counts I usually share.

You might notice that the Absolute Neutrophils have been 0.0(LL) for the last two weeks.  Normally they wouldn't let it get so low, and remain there, without giving him a Neulasta shot to help bring it back up.  This time is different however, because they don't want to stimulate the MDS with that shot.  So, he's running on empty when it comes to the Absolute Neutrophils, but the Bactrim should kind of take the place of those counts and fight off illness, to help him be more healthy.  We are hoping it helps in a noticeable way.

Terry will keep taking the Revlimid, have weekly blood draws, monthly doctor visits, and then probably a bone marrow biopsy in April.
