New Calling

Terry received a new calling yesterday. He was sustained and set apart as the seminary teacher for our Royal City youth. I decided not to expound on this subject too much, but I will say that he is a talented, knowledgeable man with a strong testimony and he has much to offer these students. It will require much time and effort and we hope and pray that his health and business will not suffer because of it - surely it won't because he will have the Lord on his side.

Something to consider -

Obedience is the Price.
Faith is the Power.
Love is the Motive.
The Spirit is the Key.
Christ is the Reason.

Something to consider -

The things that will destroy us are:
politics without principle;
pleasure without conscience;
wealth without work;
knowledge without character;
business without morality;
science without humanity, and
worship without sacrifice.

Rodeback Family Reunion

Many thanks to our wonderful parents who made this reunion so terrific!

And, to an awesome sister who helped to plan it and carry out those plans! Kudos to Jenny! It is activities like these that bring us closer together and help us see just what a wonderful family we have.

Darryl, Shawn, Elaine, Jennifer, Ron, Gelene, LeeAnn, Brian, Thaoe
.
Thomas & Dana, Connor, Terry, Anthony, Elaine (sorry, I wasn't ready for the picture), BrittanyJo, Chase.
We missed 8 of our family members, but these are 8 that were able to enjoy this years reunion.
I didn't get to get a picture of all the extended family together, but hope to get one from someone who did, so I'll post that when I do.
Actually, thanks to BJo for getting these photos on this post!

Rodeback Family Reunion

SATURDAY was our last day. It too, was filled with so much fun!
We went to Longbeach and enjoyed an afternoon in the sand and/or water.

As we were leaving we saw this van - very stuck in the sand. This guy was lucky we came by, cause he got free help. My brothers, sons, and nephews helped dig him out and then my brother towed him with his pickup. The white van behind this red one was stuck too. He also got a free tow, but no digging out for him. That ended our day at the beach, but then we went back to the house for Italian sodas and crackers and cheese and apples and dip.

Rodeback Family Reunion

FRIDAY afternoon we rented a pool for a couple hours of fun - and it was fun!!!

(the quality of these photos are bad cause I could only use the night shot and night shot doesn't allow for any movement, and there was a lot of movement going on :), But it's still fun to see.

This was a fun line up. They had the kids running down along these floating boards and shooting a ball into the basket on the other side of the pool. The video below shows Thomas running.

We went back to the church to play games and eat dinner.

.
(Terry, Brian, Dad)
We rinsed out our tie dye shirts (Connor) and

made donuts (Dana and Elaine cooking them, Terry is glazing them - all 200 (+/-), plus several donut holes.)

It was another fun day!

Rodeback Family Reunion

THURSDAY was our first day, hanging out at mom and dad's, sharing time together, holding babies (BJo & ),

playing bocce (dad, LeeAnn, Brian, Terry, Chase),

decorating a pinata (Davis)

(Amber and Davis),

watching the neighbors colt (Kendal, TraciAnn, Amber & Adyson),

enjoying the fresh corn (Brooklyn)[many thanks to our friends for allowing us to pick and take some with us to share with our family!!!!! It was so delicious, even raw :)]

YUM!

the kids enjoyed some fun with water balloons, but it was cold enough that it didn't get wild (Kendal, Shawnee, Zach, BJo),

They got some pretty big ones (Anthony, Kaden),

We also went to the church for dinner and to play some ball (Connor shooting),

enjoy some Karaoke, or at least singing together,

maybe we didn't know this song too well...

Anthony with the microphone,

tie-dyed t-shirts,

breaking the pinata,

dad controlling the pinata,

finally, we had to get a big kid in there to hit that candy out of there (Darryl),

candy and toys went flying everywhere and kids scattered for their loot,

That concluded our first day of family reunion, and what a great day it was!!!!
