We Begin Again with Missionary News ...

Tuesday night we met with President Leavitt to have Chase set apart.
After our meeting we drove to Pasco and secured a room, ate dinner and tried to get some sleep.
President Leavitt and Elder Chase Lamont Hebdon

Wednesday morning - 4:00am to be exact - we got up and got ready, Terry gave Chase a father's blessing and we went to the airport.  Things went quite smoothly and we said our good-byes,
Elder Chase Lamont Hebdon (in white shirt) of course.

Then we waited, and waited, and waited until finally we watched his plane take off ...
Our Elder's plane moving forward ...

The plane can be seen here lifting up - somewhat center of photo, just above the nose of the black vehicle.

All of these photos were taken with a phone, so they aren't very good quality, though we are happy to have them at all. BJo was my photographer and she did a great job with what she had to work with.
It's been tricky - it took me awhile to get them off my phone onto the computer.  After a few attempts on my own I had to turn it over to someone who knows a bit more - and finally he was home to help me - Connor was my tech man!
Sometimes my kids are such great help! :)

Farewell to Elder Chase Lamont Hebdon!
Here is his address for the next three weeks if you would like to write him:

Elder Chase Lamont Hebdon
MTC Mailbox 132
NV-RNO 0718
2005 N. 900E.
Provo, UT 84604-1793

We came back home and got right back into daily living;
- all the guys went to the fields working whatever position each was given,
- BJo left to basketball camp,
- I wrote to Chase, visited with a friend, planted some veggies and flowers, worked on laundry and ...,
- Dana and Tawnee came over and made raspberry jam ... mmmmm good!
That means I also got to play with Akleigh and read books to Auger.  So fun!  Does anyone know Dopey Dinosaur?  We have three books about Dopey (from many years ago) and they are some of Auger's favorites.  He likes Little Quack too, and ..., there are a few he really likes. :)

Okay, I'll sign off here - Have a great day!

Mission Farewell Lunch

We enjoyed the afternoon where
Family and Friends gathered to say "Farewell" to Chase!

We served Nachos and guests brought delicious desserts!

Chase will fly out Wednesday to enter the MTC!

It's About Love!

The Journey Continues...
Brandon and Megan have reopened or re posted their profile with LDS Family Services.

The website - It's About Love - is an adoption site for those wanting to learn more about adopting, with a section to view adoptive family profiles.  (see Brandon and Megan's profile)

Brandon and Megan's recent story can be found on their personal blog HERE.

Just a note: (no pun intended)
I hear these words playing in the background as I write this post.  "I'll go where you want me to go dear Lord ..."   I think it is awesome that as I am writing this post with those words surrounding me - those words are becoming one with my heart.
I'm so happy that Brandon and Megan have decided to re open their profile.  We don't want to miss an opportunity for their/our family.
If you know of someone in need of placing a baby with a loving family, we've got the loving family!!  :)  Is it okay that I say that?  I don't want to brag!  We love them - so it must be okay!
We love the Lord too, and are so grateful for the loving comfort and guidance He sends ... the peace that sinks deep into our hearts and souls.  I'm so grateful that He has helped our family through difficult times.  Indeed, The Journey to Forever Continues ...

Checking Things Off One by One - But Adding them Just as Fast!

4 batches of freezer jam - done! (We'll add it to the 11 quarts we made last Saturday.)

Another night of bailing - done!

Harrowbedding - getting done today!

As the list dwindles on the top, it lengthens at the bottom.
I suppose that is Life at it's Best!  It's what keeps us going, and going, ..., ...!
Look out Life ... Here we Come!

Here's What's Happening!

Out the back door we find:
All night work ... and it doesn't stop there ....
The guys bailed and harrow bedded last night, and continue raking and completing other farm work today, ... maybe a bit of napping too.
Field North of Our House
Field South of Our House
I'll try to be quiet when the napping takes place, but ...
Inside the house:
continue laundry, make strawberry jam, help BJo make cakes for YW Father's Day Project,
cleaning, organizing, and whatever else I can do to cross something off of my To Do list.

Dedicated to the ones we love.

Image from Planet Green
I've tried many times to post my feelings this morning.  I have written and deleted over and over again. I feel like those people you see in the movies that are writing a little and wrinkling up the paper and tossing it in the overflowing garbage can because they just can't find the right words.

When giving up isn't an option, what do you do?
You just keep going ...

So I just keep going, and throwing paper away, or deleting the words I've written.  We've been on our knees and we have a constant prayer in our hearts.  I've chosen to not give any more info than that - I just can't seem to write it in a way that I want to leave it and post it.

 I think I'll go eat chocolate, cause this keyboard isn't looking so good right now.  If my keyboard were chocolate I could just eat it and not have to worry about posting anymore.   Okay, that wouldn't be good - I've had enough computer related problems of late to last me for awhile.   And we all know I need to stay far away from chocolate!  But it just keeps calling my name.

Seriously though -  When life seems cruel we do know where to turn for peace.  It doesn't always solve the problem and make bad things go away, but it does always help us through them.  Where do we turn for peace?  To Him - who freely gives it.  He will and does help us through trying times.  Always!

And I am so grateful for Him!

A Day at the Clinic

Terry's appointment was at 8:30 am yesterday (Thursday).  Things went well ... but there really is nothing to celebrate.
First up was a blood draw, then the pre-meds, and then Ofa.  It's nice that he can sleep during much of that time.  I take something to work on or watch TV.
There is no new news ... things are somewhat normal or at his continuous abnormal.

Lab report:
WBC = 3.6(L) normal is 4.5-11.0
RBC = 3.80(L) normal is 4.50-5.90
Platelet Count = 53(L) normal is 150-400
Ab Neutrophils = 1.5(L) normal is 1.8-7.8
ALT = 60 normal is 17-63
AST = 64 normal is 15-41
Calcium = 9.1 normal is 8.6-10.2

Calcium was normal and actually the highest it's been for a very very long time.  This is good, because his bones are in need.  He's been poppin' calcium for a long time and it's finally showing up ... at least this time, we'll see next month if it's still as good.

Next Up!

Yesterday we went with Chase to the temple for his endowment.  It was a great day!  Wonderful blessings on a wonderful day.

There is really no greater place to be.
Columbia River Temple in Kennewick.

We ate at Double Dragon for lunch and headed home.

Our lives have been pretty filled with special occasions and will continue to be for awhile.  I'll try to keep them posted.

Happy Graduation!

Connor has graduated!

Congratulations!

He will stick around for awhile, but plans on college in January.

Here is a collage of pictures of the luncheon we had before graduation.

(Graduation photos will have to come later!)
