Momma's Dreams

Families are forever,
Or so it has been said.
They're that way in momma's dreams
While she's asleep in bed.

She sees the youngsters happy,
Playing nicely to her it seems,
Very kind and cheerful,
These children in momma's dreams.

She sees a house so well kept,
With paint and polished beams,
All is neat and orderly,
At least in momma's dreams.

The yard outside is perfect,
The lawn, the flowers gleam.
A beautiful wonder of landscape,
At least in momma's dreams.

The young man that she married
Is an obedient "puff of cream",
More handsome than in real life,
At least in momma's dreams.

Now mother's dreams are funny.
Moms treat them differently.
She sets out to accomplish them,
Perhaps not like you and me.

That's a mothers work on earth,
To build a home of heaven.
That all there in will be blessed
Because of momma's dreamin'.

Sometimes mommas complete their dreams.
Their yard is neatly done.
Their children seem to work and play
In blissfulness and in fun.

Their house and husband are just right,
The way she dreamed they'd be.
Truly moms can often make
A family heavenly.

If you find your momma dreaming
You just let her stay.
The dream is the beginning
Of momma's perfect day.
